The OCCs are multi-disciplinary centres with a regional scope, whose main mission is to coordinate and supervise all the functions and activities linked to the operational processes of railway circulation and to manage traffic in its jurisdiction. These are technically evolved centres, equipped with modern systems to support operations and make it possible to obtain a precise overview of the state of circulation at any given moment, providing information in real time to passengers and railway operators.
These centres are located in Lisbon and Porto (Contumil), while a third such centre is scheduled to be inaugurated in Setúbal.
